Hi All - Pretty bad lately on the blog updates, but just wanted to let you know there are a lot more pics on flickr!!
Well, the blog is back to some form of normality after changing web hosts!! You may notice you got an email for this posting. Since I changed web hosts, I had to re-subscribe some people. If you are getting this and don’t want to, just drop me a line or you can unsubscribe easily from the link in the email (I think).
Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone!! Particularly those family and friends a long way away, we are missing you all and could do with a few 30C days right now. It’s been a very busy year, but rewarding of course now that we have another member in the family. I won’t get into a cheesy yearly recap or anything. Maybe I’ll write a very quick summary sometime soon. Suffice it to say the year was fun, busy, challenging and full of changes and learning.
Thanks to all our friends and family both near and far and we hope everyone has a good Christmas and New Year. Thanks also to Jo and Travis and Brett and Nerida for visiting us recently and spending some time in cold Chicago.
I have put some pictures up of recent events and the first half of Christmas on flickr, so you should be able to have a look there!
Cheers,
Brett
Well, it is with sadness that we have to say goodbye to Mum and Dad! They are now in San Fran for a few days before heading to Tokyo for a few days and then home. It was a great two weeks and we did many many things. In fact, to write about it all would take a while, so for now I will just add some highlights and pictures. As usual, there are a bunch more pics on flickr for people to check out.
So, highlights (I might miss some accidentally so I will write more later perhaps):
Some highlight pictures:
Well, finally after a few hiccups regarding organisation, my oldies are coming!! They’ve been to Kakadu, Darwin, Rubyvale, Bendigo, the middle of nowhere, and now their trekking brings them to little old Libertyville in the good ‘ol US of A!!
Back in the day, one of my good friends (Thommo) started calling mum and dad ‘George and Mildred’, after a riveting British sitcom from the 70’s that you can read about here because Dad is a spitting image of George (not quite!). So, here’s a picture in case anyone sees them wandering aimlessly around Chicago (or Tokyo for that matter) slightly lost or something:
See you tomorrow morning Mum and Dad. Can’t wait!!
OK, Finally my very slack brother has managed to get us some recent pics of Sol (my nephew!!). He’s a Stark so naturally he is funny and cute!:) So, i have thrown them up on flickr and posted some highlights here. More at flickr. Happy Birthday for your recent birthday Sol!!! Hopefully through some miracle commonly known as ‘emailing pictures’, we might see more from Andy and Chelsea.
Well, we just got back from our first short vacation with Amelia. It was only for 4 days at a town, Saugatuck which we have been to before. Saugatuck is a nice town right on Lake Michigan, on the other side of the lake. It has a lot of shopping, eating and beaches in addition to a yacht club where people hang out with really cool boats. This particular weekend was busy since it had an art festival and a venetian festival (mainly a cool boat parade). All in all, a fun weekend with some learning experiences such as eating will now be more picnics and less restaurants!
Amelia did really well. When she went to bed later than usual, she just got up later. When we walked around a lot, she just slept in the stroller. All up, a good job by the baby! We had a trip to the beach, but Amelia didn’t last long there so we left pretty quickly - Didn’t exactly make the most of the $10 beach parking fee!
So, it was a good holiday and gives us reason to think Amelia will be good on other longer trips, particularly as she gets a bit older. It was certainly nice to get out of the house. Here are some pics with more on flickr as usual.
