Give Me a B

OK, so today is Super Tuesday. Don't ask me the details of what that means other than the fact a bunch of states are voting on the republican and democrat primary (leader) today. Through some convoluted mechanism, the 2 parties select their leader who will lead the parties to the polls to finally get rid of the current president. I think the leaders may be decided after today although if the Democrat race is really tight as it has been, it may go to some other states yet meaning the decision would not be today. All we can hope is that there are no more candidates ever to come out of the Bush family. There should be a "Two is Enough" limit on Presidents from a single family!! So, what's the 'B'? It's for Barack Obama. He is running against Hilary Clinton. Either way, I am fine with it, although I think I'd prefer Barack for a complete change and breath of fresh air, something badly needed. The good news is that either way, the Democrats 'should' be a shoe-in for the next presidential race although they said that last time I guess. Bottom line, just like Australia has just done with finally booting out the conservative government, it is well overdue that the US, the number 1 country in the world gets a modern, liberal (at least not conservative) leadership that is willing to make progressive decisions and changes that benefit both the US and the world.  Perhaps then, some of these stats might improve.
  • Spending $270 million _per day_ in Iraq
  • 15% of the population had no health insurance in 2006
  • Poverty levels ahead only of Ireland and Italy of the developed nations (note the UK and even Australia have some work to do here too)
