Well, we just got back from our first short vacation with Amelia. It was only for 4 days at a town, Saugatuck which we have been to before. Saugatuck is a nice town right on Lake Michigan, on the other side of the lake. It has a lot of shopping, eating and beaches in addition to a yacht club where people hang out with really cool boats. This particular weekend was busy since it had an art festival and a venetian festival (mainly a cool boat parade). All in all, a fun weekend with some learning experiences such as eating will now be more picnics and less restaurants! Amelia did really well. When she went to bed later than usual, she just got up later. When we walked around a lot, she just slept in the stroller. All up, a good job by the baby! We had a trip to the beach, but Amelia didn't last long there so we left pretty quickly - Didn't exactly make the most of the $10 beach parking fee! So, it was a good holiday and gives us reason to think Amelia will be good on other longer trips, particularly as she gets a bit older. It was certainly nice to get out of the house.
